Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. is a diamond exploration and development company founded in 1986. The company is actively involved in exploring and developing diamond deposits in Canada's Northwest Territories through a joint venture with De Beers Canada Exploration Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of De Beers Consolidated Mines. Mountain Province Diamonds and De Beers Canada Exploration Inc. discovered six diamondiferous deposits known as the Gahcho Kué Project. De Beers compiled the major bulk samples in 1999 and 2001 and is presently conducting a full technical investigation of the Hearne, 5034 and Tuzo kimberlites on the Gahcho Kué Project.
