Update on engagement ring of Heidi Montag
The reports differed on Heidi Montag’s supposed engagement ring (displayed prominently on Entertainment Tonight last night). Now there’s a new take on it from Perez Hilton. He’s saying this ring, costing $770, is the ring Montag got engaged with. In case you’re wondering, that is incorrect.
Before I get to the real ring, I’d like to point out that the Saffron Jewelry ring is incorrectly described at Ice Accessories. It is not a diamond in the center, not even a created diamond. And it isn’t a Radiant Cut. You can make a case that this Saffron Ring matches the picture. Closer, but no cigar. (An update and pictures after the jump.)
As for the real ring, as reported previously, it’s a $2,700 Amethyst ring. Look at this picture. That’s an Amethyst. Ice does not feature the ring online. I already looked for it during an earlier report.
Another update (hopefully the last thing I ever write about Heidi Montag):
TMZ added an entry on this topic. They didn’t get it perfect, but close…. “Spencer ultimately picked out what looked like a pink diamond surrounded by diamonds…Sources tell TMZ that the pink diamond is really a lavender, lemon amethyst! The ring is surrounded by diamonds and the ring retails for $2,890! Not exactly chump change, but definitely a little low-rent for Jenny’s block — or ring finger.” For the record, the ring never looked pink at all. The only reason anyone ever said it was pink is the false story on US Magazine where they said: “Pratt purchased the diamond-encrusted platinum band with a pink stone on Monday at Ice at Brentwood Gardens.” But in a later update, US Magazine also provided the same wording as the TMZ “source”. And the name of the actual designer of the ring. Jude Frances.

Posted on August 15th, 2007 at 3:04 pmYou know, my fiance, who works very hard to make what he does, saved for months and sold some items he cares very much for to purchase my $2500 engagement ring. I never expected him to do that for me, nor did I ever care about the ring. I’m marrying the most amazing man who I love more than anything. . that’s what matters.
Low rent for a ring finger? Could you be any ruder? I love my ring. Why? Because its a symbol of my future husbands and my love for each other. It shows that he picked out something very special for me on his own b/c he loves me.
I’d rather be a woman that is bragging about her man, not about the ring on her finger. So, instead of turning your noses up investigating the cost of rings for other people’s engagements, why don’t you try to have a meaningful relationship of your own?
Posted on August 27th, 2007 at 7:22 pmLaura,
Your fiancee sounds like a great guy and your approach to the relationship is commendable.
But you made a mistake. “Low rent” was the words of a website called TMZ.com, not mine. It’s in quotation marks..
Congratulations on your impending marriage and best of luck.

Posted on September 20th, 2007 at 2:35 pmI looked at the link you left… it is fucking hilarious who the hell buys a ring for his fiance at a store that sells bags and purses … I have lost my interest in The Hills..Everything is scripted anyways.
Posted on September 21st, 2007 at 11:35 pmIt wont be long till Heidi and Spencer break up.I’d give them the end of the 3rd season.
I brag about my husband and my diamond
Posted on November 8th, 2007 at 7:33 pmActually, you guys have it wrong. He didn’t get it form Ice.com, but Ice Accessories, which is a totally different establishment. The ring is probably still a fake, but I doubt it was $200. Check out iceaccessories.com if you want to go Heidi-ring hunting.

Posted on March 31st, 2008 at 11:05 amSo this proves that,in Hollywood,an engagement can be faked!
Heidi Montag’s $3G ring DOES have real
diamonds on it.
