I’m so happy to see that Manu Ginobli is finally getting the attention he really deserves for his skill at flopping. I’ve been waiting for a few years to see someone else notice his flops… Although I like Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, I have trouble watching the NBA Playoffs when the San Antonio Spurs go far, because Ginobli is so effective at getting called for the foul just by falling at the slightest touch, and flailing like an injured bird. This not sportsmanship, nor the reason we watch Basketball. It just takes the joy out of the game. Especially when the balance of the game hangs on these tactics. He surely has terrific basketball skills. What a shame to degrade himself like that…
Jeff Van Gundy is peeved too. He’d like to see those who flop to get foul calls not just not rewarded but punished.
