Van Cleef and Arpels Atlantide Collection in Time Magazine
I was just saying yesterday how Van Cleef & Arpels is getting a lot of press, when all of a sudden, they appear in TIME magazine. It’s all because of a little wedding of course. The article is saying how various fashion businesses, including Mikimoto, are taking advantage of the big spenders who came to Paris for the event, by launching new product lines.
Van Cleef unveiled models of the forthcoming Atlantide collection on wednesday:
If all goes according to plan, the Atlantide collection will travel from Paris to Hong Kong in the fall and land in New York City just in time for the holidays. Based on the mythic stories of Neptune and his queen, Cleita, the Van Cleef creative team explored the deep sea, using smatterings of pearlstourmaline to depict ocean spray and rare aqua colored tourmaline’s to evoke the ocean depths. One stunning pendant is composed of onyx and set with diamonds and white gold coral-shaped branches. Other pieces include sea nymph pins encrusted with sapphires and a Poseiden-like creature made of yellow gold and fashioned into a pin set with yellow and white diamonds and a 7 carat spinel.
Elsewhere, Women’s Wear Daily is reporting that all this success is pushing Van Cleef to step up their legal protections. The full article requires paid subscription, although there is a two week free trial.
For its part, Mikimoto launched their new line, Stormy Weather, although it isn’t up on their website yet.
