New York Times: Diamond Deals Were a Fraud, Lawsuit Claims

There’s quite a scandal brewing in the 47th Street Diamond District. 45 dealers are charging Israeli Avi Taub, brother, Oren Taub, father, Shalom S. Taub and an associate, Shiran Atias, of accepting over $3 million in diamonds on memo (consignment) and never returning them.

The brothers had put pictures on their MySpace page of themselves with various females and wrestler Hulk Hogan. Their MySpace pages are no longer available.

In the meantime, they have fled the country to Israel.
