Peanut butter being turned into Diamonds at Royal Society exhibition

Peanut butter

Originally uploaded by Bizzy Girl.

The BBC is reporting a story on scientists at Edinburgh University turning peanut butter, which contains carbon, into diamonds. They are using a similar technique to turn oxygen into red crystals. Peanut Butter to diamonds is not new, and I’m not talking about the Charcoal + Peanut Butter + Microwave = Diamonds story. This idea has been covered by Nova. The exhibition is running July 2nd through July 5th.
