Congratulations to Jerry Yang in taking over for Terry Semel at the helm of Yahoo!. The time has come. Yahoo! needed a techie as CEO, not a Hollywood guy. It took a Google to prove that. A lot of people are speculating that Sue Decker may be groomed to take over for what they expect is an interim CEO stint for Yang. She has done an excellent job, but I always liked Jerry Yang, and I’d like to see him try to be Yahoo’s Steve Jobs.

I wouldn’t worry too much about Terry though. This just means instead of a month or so on his Yacht this summer he can go for 6 months…
well.. I was speculating if there would be some surprise shuffling of people around the executive staff conference table now that he has possession of the remote control.
