I was introduced to a Microsoft engineer at a conference recently when a friend of mine heard that I was interested in the future of video search (it’s going to be BIG). The Microsoft fellow was very nice and knowledgeable. He was telling me that Microsoft bought a company that is preparing some mind blowing video technology and Microsoft would be making some waves soon. While I believed him, you don’t expect Microsoft to really blow you away. Especially in the new Google world. So I was happy to see that he wasn’t exaggerating. It’s not every day that you see a Microsoft engineer (Blaise Aguera y Arcas) get the kind of applause this fellow did. And he himself was amazed, I loved that line he made about working at Microsoft.
