There’s a nice article about Chopard in the current issue of Haute Living. It discusses the 150 year history of the iconic Jewelry House. They also cover Chopard’s relationship to the Cannes Film Festival (which we’ve gone over in the past as well).

The Haute Joaillerie Collection gets prominent notice and for good reason. It really is a sensational line. I have the catalog and will scan in some pages for you at some point.

They mention some important jewels like the 31-carat, D/IF Ashoka Cut Diamond Ring with 406 brilliants.

I’ve seen the following description of the Ashoka Cut on the website of some vendors that claim to be able to sell THE aforementioned Ashoka Ring:

The Ashoka cut diamond is a modified version of the antique cushion cut diamond, with a rectangular girdle outline and rounded corners that capture and disperse light to create a strong brilliance.

This diamond cut displays 62 facets. The rough needed to cut the stones is extra long, and weight loss varies according to the specific piece.

The scarcity of extra-long rough on the market today makes it difficult to widely distribute the cut at this time.
