Don’t miss this feature story on Van Cleef & Arpels. They cover some interesting Cleef facts and history as well as an interview with the former Cartier president, Stanislas de Quercize, who is now President & CEO of VCA. Some things I didn’t know:

• The article claims that the “Mysterious Setting“, without any prongs or claws to hold the gem in place was invented by VCA
• The tiara for Princess Grace of Monaco was made by none other than Pierre Arpels
• They have an exhibition at Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 30
• Unlike many other houses saving money with production in Asia, all VCA pieces are made in Paris. They also will not accept commissions from other houses to manufacture on their behalf as a private label. I like that!
