First Physicist Lene Hau slowed down light. Now see her latest trick.
Harvard Physicist Lene Hau is amazing. First she questioned scientists’ beliefs about the nature of light speed by actual physical light manipulations. In 1998 Hau slowed down light to 38 miles an hour.
Two years later, she brought light to a complete halt. Now she restarts the stalled light without changing any of its characteristics, and sends it on its way. This earned her a $500,000 MacArthur Foundation award to spend as she pleases.
Let’s have her slow down light and SHOW us how light reflects in a Diamond in slow motion.
