Any guesses from the experts about how many different pairs of diamond earrings she regularly wears and how large (huge) they are? I am thinking they have to be at least 4 or 5 carats each with an added bonus of 3 or 4 carat pear shapes dangling from them. She deserves her success, but the earring thing is getting out of control! Think restraint, Oprah. |

I haven't noticed Oprah's earrings. I have to pay attention next time. Would she wear real diamonds that big on the air? Well, maybe. It's Oprah, who has more money than God. I noticed she wears a diamond pave ring on her pinky. That looks cute. I love Oprah. She's my girl. ^_^ |

that they might be cz????? I remember hearing her say because she grew up "poor", she goes overboard when she buys things. Dozens of a single item that she loves. Not a whole lot of restraint there. With all of her flapping, it wouldn't surprise me that she is wearing fakes. But they are beautiful and in-your-face, just like her. Barbara Walters confessed on the air that her envied diamond stud earrings were in fact fake. And she can afford anything also. Who knows! I have both real and fake and I'll never tell. You can bet Oprah isn't going to either. irish |

I've been watching Oprah since I was in gradeschool, and let me tell you something - if that woman actually WANTED a diamond on her left hand, it would be there. She has no desire to become a mother, has plenty of money, a wonderful heart, does lots of charity, has companionship when she wants it, and travels a lot. If I was her, I certainly would not want to get married either. And if she wanted to put a ring on that finger, she'd buy it herself. I don't know any other celebrity that I amire or respect as much as Oprah Winfrey. |

funny that you should say that because I was just admiring Oprah's diamond earrings a few days ago. I thought they stood out beautifully against her dark hair. If anything I always find her style very understated and classic. I think she's the best.... |

but I still remember seeing Oprah in a beautiful chocolate brown satin evening gown with a fishtail train. I think it was for the Emmy's? This was a few years ago. I thought she looked so beautiful. She's also an accomplished actress...The Color Purple is one of my all-time favorite movies! |

indeed the color purple was a great film. did anyone get a chance to see beloved? what did you think? i have not seen it and am thinking about renting it this weekend. oprah has done a lot of evolving over the years. i love watching the vintage oprahs and seeing how far she has come...as her hair changed, so did mine! |

I agree. I like that movie, too. Also, I liked her short-lived series "Brewster's Place." I was disappointed when it was off the air. I'm watching the Oprah show right now. She's wearing some big earrings. I think those earrings are CZ's. They're lovely, but I don't think they're real diamonds. I think the big earrings look good on her. Oprah is not a petite woman. To match her, her jewelry would have to be good-sized. She looks good with those earrings. |

I know she did one show once where a woman won the opportunity to wear some of Oprah's diamond earrings in her wedding. She was married on the show. They had guards there to protect those earrings!! I was drooling... She didn't get to keep them... I never heard about Barbara Walter's earrings. They were CZ?? Or moissanite or what? Melissa |

One day on "the View" which I normally don't watch, Meredith Vierra said when she grew up she wanted to have a pair of diamonds studs like Barbara's. Then old Babs made a face and said that well "you know girls, they aren't real diamonds they're cz." Everyone gave a collective "OOOOOO really". The ladies all thought they were real, and after a few seconds of discussion Meredith decided they were beautiful regardless. Then Barbara announced she had just lost one of them. end of story! irish p.s. Oprah has a beautiful smile and I love her laugh. |

Do you remember the Oprah show Feb 10, 1998? That's when Oprah was having her trouble with the "CowBoys in Texas". Oprah sent her film crew up to the Crater of Diamonds State Park. My wife, our dog Bear, and I, were interviewed for the show. I had just found my 155pt reddish brown diamond. That was my 15 minutes of fame. Joker.... |

Don't know if anyone mentioned this, but I believe the diamond pinky ring is a friendship ring..Her friend Gail also has one....I read too many magazines!!!!!! =o) Jess ps...I have noticed her earrings and they are massive!!!! I just want to add my comment . . . Two years ago I was fortunate enough to see a taping of the Oprah show. She actually taped 2 shows while we were there. It was the last taping of the year (right before Christmas) and she was hilarious! I think Oprah and everyone in the studio audience were delirious and slap-happy by the end of taping. For one of the most powerful women in the world, she was very down-to-earth and funny. Did not notice the earrings

I catch the Oprah shows sometimes when they air at night. I bet those massive earrings are the real deal and they look closer to 8 carats a piece to my untrained eye. She also has a white South Sea pearl necklace and a black Tahitian pearl necklace of enormous proportions. Those are real, no doubt in my mind. I would also estimate the black ones to be in the $200,000+ range. She is over the top when it comes to her jewelry, but I really admire her success. |

NEW YORK (CNN) -- It seems Oprah Winfrey is feeling the Christmas spirit early this year. The talk show host and actress tells "Good Housekeeping" that she had a pair of old diamond earrings broken up and made into 14 toe rings for Christmas presents for her closest girlfriends. "The earrings were too big and gaudy anyway," Oprah said in the December issue. "I can't waste toast. And I can't waste diamonds!" And that's not all. "The other day I was in the store and I saw this Kieselstein-Cord pocketbook that I loved. And I thought, 'Who else do I know who could use a nice handbag?' I decided to buy it for Diane Sawyer," she said. "I really like her a lot, so I thought I'd get it for her for Christmas. Or I could give it to her today. Because that's the day I thought about it."

For her 44th B-day (1988?) longtime boyfriend, Stedman Graham bought her diamond earrings: "And on top of that, my honey came into town and bought me some diamond earrings," ~ Winfrey said at the beginning of the show. She then brushed her hair back to show off the gift as her audience applauded. Someone in the audience yelled out, "How many carats, Oprah?" ~The talk show host answered: "You know, I didn't count." Are those the ‘BIG’ earrings everyone is referring to? I have met Oprah, Stedman and Gayle. They are very nice. Just as nice as they appear to be to people on their shows and stuff. Gayle’s kids are beautiful, well behaved and very much loved. |

I have noticed a few different pairs of mammoth diamond earrings on Oprah. Her jeweler must be in hog heaven. The ones I can recall now (only because I saw them over the past couple of days) are the ones with the pear drops and some enormous radiants that look to be about 8 to 10 carats each. I enjoyed the story about her wanting to buy the Kiesselstein-Cord handbag for herself, but instead buying it for her friend, another multi-millionaire, Diane Sawyer. Maybe the bag could have stayed in the store, Oprah could have given a picture of the purse to Diane along with a note stating that she thought about buying it for her, but decided to give the money to charity instead? Yes, that type of gesture would have made MY heart smile. |

i just flipped through the channels and stopped to check oprah's earrings out b/c of this thread. my god they're enormous! they're not the drop pears pictured above, i think they're emeralds (maybe the radiants mentioned above) did i mention they're gigantic? she's also wearing a matching chunk around her neck prettier than oprah's earring, however, is her guest's necklace. halle berry is wearing an absolutely stunning and delicate diamond necklace. i don't think i've ever seen anything like it. it's gorgeous. i wish i had a pic to post. |
