How To Post Pics; Resizing; Embed Images
There are 2 ways to share images in a post: 1) Upload images from your computer. 2) Embed an existing web image by linking its url. How To for #1 General info for taking pictures to post on the forum: * If your digital camera allows you to set the photo size, the best format to use is 640x480. This size will give a non distorted photo and one that is easy to work with. * Use the macro feature to take close up photos. The macro feature is identified by the "flower" icon in the corner of your viewfinder. Note: * If you're taking photos for a Classified Ad, clean your jewelery first. Be sure to photograph the piece from many angles. Include a face up shot of the piece. Before Uploading to a post do these things: * Images in .jpg format are the most common, but these are acceptable as well--doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zipa. * Using a photo editing program, CROP or TRIM away all extraneous background in photos. This works as a resizing tool without actually resizing the image. If done correctly the pic will upload without having to Resize Image. * The WIDTH of pics should be no more than 700pixels. How to upload photos: * Click on Go Advanced icon under the Reply box, scroll the screen to Click Upload/Manage Attachments. * You are allowed 8 pics per post. * Click BROWSE; find and Click on the desired photo to attach * Click OPEN to set up the photo for upload; you will be returned to the Upload window. * Click UPLOAD each time or do it after all desired photos have been setup in the Attachment window. * All photos successfully attached will appear as completed. * Click SUBMIT... to complete your post. Note: * Any photos TOO LARGE will queue a failure message at the top of the Attachment window. Use any of your photo editing programs to RESIZE the image. The WIDTH should be no more than 700pixels. Do the BROWSE;UPLOAD process again. How To for #2 Embedding an existing web image in your post Note: Links and images may not be used for promotion * Find the image you want to embed in your post. Right Click and Copy the image Location. * Click on Go Advanced under Reply box. * In the format toolbar above the posting box, Click on the 9th icon--it is a yellow square with a mountain image. * In the pop window Right Click and PASTE the link previously copied. * Click Ok to complete the process * Continue with post and SUBMIT Reply. Note: I'm sure something will have to be changed or corrected, check for updating posts. Irish

Re: How To Post Pics; Resizing; Embed Images
I'll try but I doubt it will work. See I recently got a new laptop as my old one was on the fritz, my husband got all my info to the new one but the pics I already have, I cannot resize. So I think the next best thing is to take the pics again :O). Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. |

RE: Photos
It worked! Yay! It must be the irish in me! I love you Irish! Buzz is 9, Jazzman is 8 Jazzman wasn't even in weening age (He loves sucking on blankets!) when some idiot abandoned him on a road in West Quincy. My sister-in-law took him in after her neighbor found him. They both live with us now. Buzz took him under his wing, they are inseparatable! Thanx! Dbogie

Great post irish! I just found a couple of great links to deal with our width limit of 700: http://resizr.lord-lance.com/ and in case you need to edit something in a picture and you don't photoshop or irfanview, just edit it online! http://www.splashup.com/ |
