optimizing bling for a two carat diamond

Assuming you get an optimum cut for the various diamond shapes available, what shape will get you the most "bling" (i.e. biggest bang for the buck) for a two carat diamond?

In my opinion, rounds provide the most sparkle & fire, and look large for their weight too.

Ovals, pears and marquise shapes will look large for their weight also, but probably won't have quite as much sparkle & fire as a well-cut round.

So much also depends on the cut of each individual stone don't you think? I was downtown today visiting jewelry stores to get ideas for my next project and was suprised how small some of the stones with large ( ish) carat weight looked next to others of the same weight or slightly less.

Foxy said it the best. Round diamonds give the most fire and brilliance in my opinion too. I personally wear a .88 ct round for a stud ear ring and everyone compliments me on it. Sure princess and ovals and emeralds are all pretty, but nothing sells faster than a great cut round.
