Lost diamond wondering how much to replace?
Quote this post and reply to it Post#1 @ 03-09-08 , 06:15 PM

I lost the diamond out of my wedding band. It was .71 ct f/g color SI 1 clarity

Can anyone give me any idea how much it would be to replace it with something similar. Thanks for your help

Are you referring to a round stone?

There are a lot of factors that determine the price of a diamond like how well cut the stone is and who graded the stone and where you buy it. But, I'd say a certified (EGL, GIA or AGS) .71 G SI1 would run anywhere from $1500 -- $2800 online.

Yes, it was a round stone

I'm amazed that the price of diamonds didn't go up that much over the last 25 years. I guess that's good news because I will be able to replace it or upgrade it too. How would you suggest I buy another diamond? I can spend about 5000. Thank you so much for your help.
