Anyone know of a good independent appraiser in the DC/MD/VA area? I looked on the ASA website and found one in the area. I sent an email inquiring about services and got a response saying that she would rather be my BROKER than APPRAISER since she is also a dealer and can get diamonds at *only* 10% above cost which NO ONE else does. Well this left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't have a problem sending the stone out of state to an appraiser however I would initially like to get one done locally right away as I am buying online and have a limited amount of time to return if there is a problem. |

The best guy around us is Martin Fuller. He's in Tysons Corner, VA. I don't have his number offhand, but its listed under "Fuller and Associates". He aint cheap, but he's thorough... Jim Schultz http://www.DirtCheapDiamonds.com |

Thanks a lot. Is it me or was that inappropriate for the first appriaser I contacted to only mention her diamond dealing services with no mention of appraisal servcies? |

Yes it was inappropriate. You should also check the ISA website for appraisers, they may have someone in your area. |
