Best place and method of proposing in Paris

Very shortly, I am taking my girlfriend to Paris for a long weekend where I intend to ask her to marry me. I have never been to Paris before (or asked anyone to marry me before, for that matter). I have bought her the most beautiful diamond, with which I intend to propose. That way, I'll have something to give her without running the risk she'll be disappointed with my choice of ring. She can then choose the design of the ring herself once our trip is over and we have returned home. I would like advice on two things. 1. Does anyone know of a unique and romantic way to propose with just a diamond? (I'm thinking that as I'll only have a diamond, the top of the Eifel Tower or Arc de Triomphe wouldn't be a good idea). 2. What are the best places in Paris to propose? |

Hello there. Excellent project  My (only) recommendation for location is for the viewing platform of the Palais de Caillot. It faces onto the north-west side of the tower, and is across the river. Have you considered having the diamond set in a very plain (and inexpensive) solitaire ring, just to make it easier to handle? Let her know very quickly that it's just a 'gem holder' after proposing, of course. |
