I would love a 1 ct round but I am more interested in a good color change that I am flexible with both the size and shape. |

i always thought that alexandrite was really expensive like diamonds. All the stones in the 1 ct size that i have seen were going for 3-4 grand range. Those sites have them for really cheap. Why is that? |

Much of the stuff out there on the market is the brown-grey stuff which isn`t all that attractive of a stone I don`t think. Top quality Alexandrite will have a color change from Green (daylight) to Red in (incandescent). Here is a pic of one. |

Those on the tV shopping channels have maybe a 25% color change. from a greenish gerey color to a blusih green color. I would love to see one with a GIA cert that has a real discernable colro change. |

Some go from green to a purple. Khazar has lots of those, not too fond of them. The best ones go from green to a more reddish color. |

Although in uk We have a very large collection of Alexandrite, some very good examples and some extremely good examples with certs all natural from brazil. steve |
