Nigerian aquamarine "mother's ring"
Aquamarine is my daughter's birthstone, so my husband made me this ring to commemorate her birth. When she's old enough to be responsible or when I'm tired of wearing it (like maybe when I'm 80) I'll give it to her. |

Re: Nigerian aquamarine "mother's ring"
Thanks. My husband is a pretty incredible jeweler (not that I'm biased or anything!!) I wear this ring and six others every day no matter what I am doing, even gardening. I figure what's it worth if I just keep it stashed in a box somewhere. Still, it will be nice for my daughter to have one day when she's old enough. |

There was a very short find of this deep blue aqua in Nigeria around the time that my daughter was born. I bought this one from James Alger in New Hampshire. He has always been one of my most favorite gem dealers. His collection is breath-taking, and he and his wife and staff are some of the nicest people to work with. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for something special. |

Re: Nigerian aquamarine "mother's ring"
This is a tanzanite ring that Joel made me in 2001, before we started to use the CAD, so it's completely hand-forged. The diamonds are an unusual straight pave setting style, and there's actually a little daisy cut into the platinum between the diamonds! Sadly, I've really banged up the tanzanite over the years. There are big digs and scratches all over it, but I still love the color. We bought the stone fairly early, before the big tanzanite craze. |
