DT'ers....please help me pick which purse to buy!
Quote this post and reply to it Post#1 @ 03-23-07 , 01:46 AM

Hi everyone!
I really respect the taste of everyone here at DT.
I have a little tax $ coming back to me, and I want to buy a really nice, quality purse. I found one that I LOOOOOOOVE, but I'm struggling over which color to get. I'm so confused!
I only buy a nice purse once a year, since tax $ is the only way I can ever afford it.
Anyway, I need this to be a purse I can use all year long, in all 4 seasons.
I am leaning toward this purse in green, but I keep thinking maybe this hue of green is really more of a spring/summer color, so maybe I should get the camel.
Here are the two choice. Your opinions/thoughts/ideas are welcome as I respect your taste!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

In Camel:

Thank you!

Personally, I think the camel is more versatile. Pretty purse by the way.

They are both lovely but I think you will get more wear out of the camel.

I had a green Dooney bag that I carried year-round for years. It really didn't clash with anything I was wearing at all.

I'm the lone dissenter, but I say go for the green; the camel one to me just kind of fades into the background like wallpaper and looks like any old bag. Be bold!

No doubt about it, after that it just has to be camel
That was really really funny.

LOL, I love that camel ...............but I think I like the green purse better. I really like that shade of green over the camel version.

green! green goes with everything, especially if you wear a lot of reds, blacks and whites. The camel would be harder to match, I think. I guess it depends on your wardrobe and your personal style. I like dark colors for my purses (mostly cole haan) becasue they show the scuff marks less.
Go with what your instincts say!

Definately the green, nothing clashes with it, and it's different.

You ladies are fantastic! You made some observations that I had not thought about, like how darker leather hides some of the scuff marks and things.
I live in Vancouver, Canada....lots of rain and that kind of thing.
I think I might be better off with the green afterall!
Shiney, I like the black one too, but not as much as the other two colors.
Like you said, Andi, it's different!
Hugs to each of you for taking the time to give your feedback.
Blessings to all!

Here's a guys opinion and I guess that I didn't even feel one way or the other until I saw that fabulous camel that Gil posted.

IMO, one could bring a camel like that anywhere, how nimble, classy and light on his/her feet.

Clash with other colors ? Never, this classic camel would look good always.

I'm sorry, but after seeing this camel, I cannot imagine the green version.
