Keshi pearls
in search of a strand of south sea keshi pearls: found a strand at tiffany and co very very uniform in shape and very white but a little flat with regard to luster and that wonder shimmer.............found a strand at a no name place .........much more irregular shapes but gorgeous pearlescent luster like psun sugar. Should I go with T % co as they MUST know what they are doing? |

Re: keshi pearls
Good question actually. I thought keshi pearls are always baroque... I suppose you are comparing salt water pearls. I can't really add to your enquiry except to say that I have a lot of fun designing for Keshi pearls that are baroque - odd shaped. It would never put me off a purchase especially where the lustre was exceptional. |

Re: keshi pearls
yes saltwater south sea...........keshis are not round but they range from flat potato chip-ish shapes to fat ovoid shapes. The T & co strand wer ealmost all lovely little "eggs" the other were lumpier and bumpier |

Re: keshi pearls
You are going to hate this answer but whenever I have a choice I can't make I toss a coin. I toss a coin, T&C = heads, it lands on heads and if I feel a pang of regret I know I want the other, so I cheat or trick myself into making a choice. It might only work for me. I think you can have both though. The Keshi sellers I buy from, sell by lustre and size, not shape. Of course a well matched strand will cost a lot more. |

Re: keshi pearls
Am I allowed to mention other forums on this site? If not feel free to delete this. I just wanted to mention the site www.pearl-guide.com It's a great place to get advice about pearls. Also there is a seller on ebay called druzy design and she has some keshi strands as well as some other interesting pearls. |
