In that group of Brian's photos, is that a colorless diamond along side the pink for reference? Good photos

Yes. Brian put the Pink next to a D color Round for reference. Brian's pics are awesome & are much better than mine!!! But I'd rather spend my $$$ on sparklies, instead of a nice digital camera. Amy

Wow, its awfully pink for a Very Light Pink grade! Maybe its just the pictures. Do you think they were too harsh on the stone with that grade? |

Most of the time you can tell it's definitely light pink, but in some lighting it almost looks colorless. So I think the color grade is pretty accurate.........it was graded by GIA. The pink color definitely becomes more apparent when I compare it to my colorless diamond side-by-side. Thanks for the observations & compliments!! I love this ring so much!!! It was a COMPLETE SURPRISE from my sweet hubby! Amy

A very pale yellow or brown will be graded as something like "S-T color (light yellow)" but a very pale blue, pink, green, etc, these don't get alphabet gradings. For them, it goes straight to just word terms, i.e. Very Light Pink. Faint Very Light Light Fancy Light Fancy Fanct Intense Fancy Vivid Fancy Deep Fancy Dark With Fancy Deep and Fancy Dark, the tone is darker, not the actual color saturation. |

Thanks
I have seen some faint pink available via diamond dealers and I am thinking without actually viewing them they would not be dark enough to show any pink when set in white gold. I do however prefer a light pink to a darker color I know I am the odd one but that is my personal preference same with my FLY I prefer a lighter color. I need to get out there and actually view a faint pink versus a light pink etc. Today is a jewelry show in my area but I injured my knee and walking is an issue ( as will driving there be) so I am torn as to what to do. |

Re: Foxy's *PINK* Diamond Ring By Knox Jewelers
Maven, mine was graded as "Very Light Pink" from GIA. Ragemanchoo is correct with the pink diamond terminology too........the scale starts with the lightest pink & goes to the darkest pink. Thanks for posting that Ragemanchoo! Thanks a lot AOTC!! That was a very special Christmas that I'll never ever forget! My hubby's so sweet! Maven, when you get a pink diamond, consider getting it set in rose gold (or at least the prongs or bezel). It will really help bring out the pink color in the diamond. And sorry to hear about your knee! I hope you'll still be able to go to the jewelry show! Injuries are no fun at all! Hope it heals up soon! Amy

No I did not get to go
I instead am babysitting my 21 month old granddaughter who at this moment is still awake and has not napped at all today. OMG what a handful. |

Re: Foxy's *PINK* Diamond Ring By Knox Jewelers
No prob, Foxy ![]() Maven -- what was the name of the jewelry show? One is coming to my area in November. Its coming to Eugene, Oregon. Its called Gem Faire. It goes up and down the west coast, and I think inland to Arizona. |
|
|
It was the intergem show
In Baltimore MAryland this is the big one for my area.Maybe next I can catch the one in Chantilly Virginia. I think a smaller one comes in like in June that I have attended but its not anything to rave about( in fact most of the conversrations I oiverheard at hat show were blatant lies being told to unsuspecting buyers). This weekend was abust I babaysat and needed the next day to sort of recoup. I'll check when the next show is coming nearby and try to better plan for it. |

That story got me a little teary eyed. You and your hubby are made for each other. The ring is just so beautiful. I love it. Lisa |

Not sure how I missed this originally -- but what a wonderful story and BEAUTIFUL ring!! How's your dh going to top that this Christmas?? Mine just doesn't have jewelery buying in him and Lord knows what I'd look like if he dressed me in a black dress, nylons and heels. Here's hoping for a new laptop this Christmas!
