Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
Hi everyone, I'm quite possibly buying THIS asscher tomorrow. I'd REALLY appreciate feedback and advice before I make the purchase! 1.24 F VVS2 exc exc depth: 68.6; table: 61 I plan to set this in a reproduction of the 1922 Cartier. Please give feedback on this stone, and I have attached the Ideal Scope imagine and 10x images below. |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
I suspect you'll be getting the standard questions before anyone can really answer: does it have a cert and is so, from where (GIA, EGL, etc) and how much? Any diamond is a good deal if the price is right... |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
Oops, yes it does have a cert -- GIA. Price is $8500. |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
I'm not familiar with Asscher specs, but I think the stone is very pretty. Do you have a picture of the setting yet? |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
I think it's a great diamond, looks great from the pics, good specs, proportions seem very good, the price seems fair as well. nice choice |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
I am buying, yes. Thank you to everyone for your help -- I know I don't have to tell any of you about the anxiety and uncertainty of diamond shopping, but so many people have been willing to help. You're really providing a wonderful service to a "layman" like me!

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
Are you looking to stay with the solitaire type of look, or would a three stone be a possibility? |

Excuse my brief review of your details, did you mention where you are planning on buying this ring? Looks good and great details, Also why is there a deadline of tomorrow? |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
I bought this ring from exceldiamonds. -- the deadline was basically set during negotiations, as Barry was holding this Asscher for me while he provided the pics and details above. The main purpose of the deadline was so I wouldn't lose out on what seems to be a great Asscher I bought it early Sunday morning, and now we're working on a setting. |

I purchased my finace's Asscher and setting from Barry and Judah at Excel and went with the 1922 Cartier Reproduction Ring. It is with a 1.33 carat Assher. The side stones in the ring are .02 The ring is beautiful, and some 6 months after getting engaged, she still stares at it. Barry and Judah did a great job! Jamie |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
Well, I changed gears from the Cartier and it's going to be Scott Kay (we went window shopping and she fell in love with the setting below, except I'm requesting split prongs that I think are great with Asschers). Does anyone think we'll run into trouble using princess sides with an Asscher center stone? Or is this just a situation where it should come down to personal preference rather than "going by the book"? |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
That is a good question because I think it really is up to personal preference. I think the princess sides will look great. That setting is so elegant and I love the fact that you'l have it done with split prongs! Can't wait to see the finished project -- congrats! |

Re: Buying tomorrow! Please HELP!
I like the idea of princess sides, still going with a squarish feel, but with subtle glitter to set of the sleek asscher look. |
