Hi
I had no idea how painful it will be
to pick the rite diamond.

I have a question about fluorescence.
What does it do and why is bad (if it is)
I found a rock with blue fluorescence
Is it OK or I better stick with no fluorescence

Thanks a lot

Ross

This one comes up a lot. It depends on the diamond. You need to look at the stone and see if it affects the clarity of the diamond. I have seen stones that were strong blue, not have any affect and also have seen stones that were medium blue give a hazy appearance in sunlight. What you don't want is the stone to appear hazy or milky. Also there is some discount on price for stones with fluorescence.

I would just add that medium blue is usually okay in a stone, and preferable to yellow fluoresence. You will need to "eyeball" the stone to make sure it isn't disernable, no matter WHAT the specs say. good luck!
