I am trying to reach someone with the expertise to help me in making a decision on a replacement stone for my engagement ring. *The stone I have decided on- (almost), is "near colorless", but with a dark blue flouresence. I spoke with a gemologist at "GIA"- (& his reply was that this used to be frowned upon... but is now actually preferred by the majority of the consumers. *The thing he said would make it a "negative", was if the stone had a cloudy or milky appearance. This stone looks clear under 10X magnification, and is a very clean stone. I have never seen it listed this way on the appraisal and map... so was wondering if someone else out there has some additional knowledge, or has run into the same question when picking out a diamond.
Any feedback and/or help would be greatly appreciated. I want to make an informed choice, and feel that the more research I do on this subject, will help in my final decision.
The stone is very nice with a lot of fire and brillance, and the only thing that threw me off was the fact that I had never seen this on an appraisal/map before.
Hoping to hear from someone with some suggestions on where to search for this topic on the Internet, or has the knowledge to further explain this to me?
Cool Runnings~
Stormy
