Got it! e-ring in hand!
Hey all! I just wanted to say that I found an e-ring that fit the bill quite well. Overall it's pretty much right on for what I was looking for. I was able to get what I think is a good deal and if she doesn't like it I will be able to exchange it since it was a store model. Oh, she hasn't seen it yet or even know about it, but I had done some research through this website and her sister/friends so I'm fairly sure she'll like it. Thank you guys very much, just for having the website and a SEARCH engine! I was initially thinking about a cushion setting/halo pave setting. If she really wants that setting we'll go for it, but I couldn't get it for her without her wanting it (I wasn't going to ask because it's not quite the surprise). Here are some picks. center is 0.8 ct, H, vs2. white gold, what's a good price? what's a bad price? Thanks again |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
Hmmm, not sure on what's a good price, but I just wanted to say it's GORGEOUS! I love that the split shank doesn't taper at the top, but rather, more gracefully. And from the pics (which are great by the way), it looks like you have a winner!! I'm more interested in knowing if the lucky lady is a regular on DT!!! Congrats, and I hope the proposal goes smoothly, and again, congrats!!! =) |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
I'm not going to say what might be a good or bad price, because I don't know, but I will definately agree with Snooper and mimi... It's a beautiful ring, and I can't imagine any girl not loving it!! |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
Veragio? (se setting reminds me strongly of one of their styles). Looks great! Price... dunno. You can find hundreds of quotes for .8-ish carat H/VS2 on the Net. If the stone you have does not have a lab report, I'd rather compare prices a grade down (say, I/VS2) among GIA and AGS graded stones. Prices for settings go all over the place, but there is a relatively tight bracket for custom (no-name) ones involving a moderate amount of pave, so you can find references for that too. I wouldn't know to do any better than look for a 'replacement cost' by shopping around. Hope some of this helps... |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
Thanks for all the nice replies. It's reassuring to think she'll love it. Oh, it does have a GIA trade number. I know you can always find stuff cheaper on the web. But I was able to work easily with jeweler and see everything in person. That made the decision/stress a lot easier, worth any extra money. And, no, the lady in waiting is not a regular here. I'm hoping she doesn't even know this place exists. ![]() Oh, there's nothing better than a really nice digital camera at work to take pictures of diamond rings. I had the hardest time trying to find a camera that could focus that close. Cool deal! thanks again |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
The split shank setting is somewhat of a new -yet classic style. I don't think you could go wrong with that. The ring is exquisite! I am quite sure she will love it! Sorry, really couldn't comment on the price though. If you love it, and she does too, price may not matter at this point .~Ronda

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
Ok, for price? I'm thinking... $4000-$5000 for the entire ring including diamond (could be more or less depending on the lab report, color, clarity, yada yada) Again, that's just a guess.. I'm thinking the stone alone would be $3000-3500 roughly???? Setting $1000-$1500?? I'm just guessing.. But what ever the price, it is gorgeous!! And I know of a few DT ladies who are getting a splitshank! (Candysmooch, LCole) =) |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
I tried on a very similar setting today, in platinum it was around $3,000, if that helps at all. |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
It was closer to 2600, sorry, I just looked it up. |

Re: Got it! e-ring in hand!
Yeah, all those numbers sound about right. Okay, that's good. Didn't pay too much. Good deal all around. yeee-ha!!!! I don't have the bill in front of me but I think the stone was about $3500 and the setting $1700. |
