I think webgal is right - you'll get a better price and a better looking ring in the end if you get the diamond and setting from the same place.

What shape diamond do you have in mind? Round? Oval? Emerald Cut? We'd love to hear about it.

she likes round cut, ring with diamond and sidestones, no three stones, sorry.
white gold, hopefully at least a vs1, and at least a g color. would like to get at least a very good cut and >.5 carat main diamond. we looked at some on bluenile.com last night and she and i both like the pavé setting for the side stones.

just a little of what i'm thinking.

WebGal makes a VERY good point: get the center stone and the setting from the same place. Any of the vendors here will be happy to help you with the setting and diamond of your dreams (and budget!). I've been a jewelry freak for a very long time (since I was a little girl and I used scissors to remove all the stones from my mothers jewelry - oh, yes I did! I made christmas decorations with them!) and I can tell you that you won't find better dealers than here. It sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you want so you are well on your way. Good luck!

Just had to link this in for you - hope WebGal and David don't mind. This setting is from Diamonds By Lauren and retails for $399 in 14k white or yellow gold. Also available in platinum. Fits anything from .50ct to 2ct. Their rings are made to fit the stones to be set so you could have any shape center you want in pretty much any size. This would free up $2600 for the center stone which would get you something very nice I'm sure!

Also check out DBOF's site (Diamond Brokers of Florida) - another vendor you can't go wrong with.

Well this is a very common question.
The first consideration is thew space between the two rings.
There will be a small gap unless the wedding ring is "cut out" to allow it to nestle up close to the engagment ring

#2) does it match?
If the answer to #1 is - small gap is no problem- then a matching band is realtively easy.
IF she wants a set with complete "flush-ness" it may require two rings designed to go together.......

Thanks DJ, for posting our ring!

really don't know about that i would have to ask.

webgal- who do you pull for?

Not to hijack this thread, but WebGal, you posted a picture of a DBL ring with a fitted band. The 'prong' around the half moons? Is it my eyes, ore does it look like a upside down "U"??

One thing to consider to gotoheel with rings that don't sit flush? I think the space between both rings to showcase the detail of each ring btter. And it'll allow your lady to wear the band alone (if she chooses). Where as a fitted ring, you can wear the band alone, but it's not circular (i'm not technical at the moment...)

Thanks for posting my ring webgal
