As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
As many of you may remember, I have mentioned that my sister makes jewelry. I have promised numerous times to post examples of her work and I never have! I wanted them to be from the original digital photos but my father never gave me copies. Today I was bored at work so I scanned the prints I had! The quality of the files probably could be better and I don’t know if the colors are 100% true. Danielle uses fine sterling silver, genuine gemstones, as well as Swarovski crystals in her work. Some of the materials you will see in the following photos include: Pearls, garnet, turquoise, amethyst, peridot, African turquoise, and citrine among others. I hope you enjoy! P.S. – I apologize if I misidentify anything! |

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
These are some of her most expensive pieces. All that sterling, pearls and garnet really add up. I think the triple strand goes for $96 but don’t quote me on that! (Though her prices range from $15 for some earrings, mid-twenties for some necklaces and on up). I really love these. |

I think I might have her make bracelets that look like these (2nd pic) for my bridesmaids but with a yellow/champagne colored pearls. |

More ropes Different materials definitely give it a different feel – some are more casual. |

Another of my favorites. I think she uses a more delicate chain now. This one is a definite contender for my bridesmaids. |

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
These are examples of pieces that take a longer time to make. These aren’t simple strung or wire wrapped pieces. The first is a flower made with tiny beads. The second pic shows these medallions (some with fringe that make them look like dream catchers). The third pic shows what I think she calls Venetian Collars. She has a great eye for color and I think her pieces reflect that. |

I LOVE this ring. It’s fun and funky. She can make them with most any color gem/stone as long as they are available in a relatively flat bead. |

Some earrings... She has expanded and started making some that look different from these but my dad hasn't taken pics of those yet. |

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
The obligatory mother’s bracelets. I think most hobby jewelry makers do these - soccer moms love them! Unlike some people I know who make these, she uses real sterling silver. So whereas some hobbists are making them with junk beads for $25, hers cost, like, $65. (I think)She has also expanded the concept into little girls’ name bracelets and Alma Mater bracelets. She has made me lots of red & black jewelry for game days – GO DAWGS!

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
I hope y’all enjoy these! I would love to be able to bring her some feedback from jewelry lovers such as yourselves, so tell me what you think. Constructive criticism is welcome too – she loves to learn more about people’s likes and dislikes.Oh, and if you would like more information about anything you see, I guess PMing me would be the most appropriate way to do that, right? Thanks! |

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
Your welcome, WebGal! Yes, it drove me crazy watcing her squint in bad lighting, holding a piece 2 inches from her nose! I finally got her one of the those jeweler head gear thingy with the built in lights and magnifying glasses! She looks like a pro when she uses it!

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
Sadie, your sister makes some beautiful jewelry!! I made some small beaded earrings many years ago and after a few pairs I was done! Way too much work for the little end result you get. He-ha. I gained a whole new appreciation for hand made beaded jewelry after that experience.

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
Rhonda - me too! I had been considering trying it and I was really disappointed that she started without me. But once I saw how much work it is and how long some of her pieces take, I realized I am in NO WAY patient enough to do that!! Besides... it's nicer to let her do all the work and then reap the benefits!! LOL |

Re: As promised long ago - my sister's jewelry
I love the first necklace in post 2 and the first one in post three. The last necklace in post 3 is beautiful too – is that green or is it my screen? I'd love that one without the clear sections...just all greeney colour...lovely! The pearl rope is pretty cool too - very versatile. Wow, very talented girl your sister. |
