3-Stone Ring - Size Relationship of Stones?
Quote this post and reply to it Post#1 @ 10-19-05 , 01:25 PM

My wife is considering a classic, 3-stone ring set in platinum to replace her rings that was recently stolen. I'm wondering if there are general guidelines that dictate that size relationship between the center stone and the side stones. In other words and to keep it simple, if the center stone is 1 ct, what size should the side stones be? I realize that at some point its a matter of taste but I assume there are some guiding principles. My wife really wants the final result to look like a 3-stone ring instead of a center stone with small accent side stones. Thank you.

Hi Berob,

Welcome to the forum.

The only sure guideline that I am familiar with is to be sure that her new center diamond is bigger than any diamond of her friends, co-workers and inlaws.
