Round diamond in square setting??
Quote this post and reply to it Post#1 @ 08-09-05 , 04:35 AM

Is this possible to set a round stone in a square setting? I've seen some designs I like for my round diamond which is currently in a round setting and can't quite figure out whether the stone is round!

It can be quite beautiful. Sometimes when you set the round in a 4 prong setting it can make it look square. Here is one that we did recently.

Another approach would be to mount a round stone into a square halo....they can look great!

For some reason, I couldn't come up with a picture of one, but I did find these: round stones in (from L to R) in an octagon, a trillion shape, and a cushion shape.

It does look fantastic in a halo - I also thought about the Tiffany twist that goes round it but not sure if we can afford all that! I suppose I could just put a halo round the stone instead?

That makes it look larger as well.

My main stone is set into a square head that I designed to look like a vintage style.
