I need any and all feedback if you all would like to help.

I am looking for a wedding band to complete my set. Long story short, I never received one when I was married. I was given one amazing ring and that was used for my engagement and wedding ring. Why? That is just the way it happened...Honestly, I don't have a real reason to share. The ring is truly special and now that I am married five years, I would like to purchase a band to complete it. I feel it makes it even more special since it is a five year anniversary and yet it will also be the wedding band I never received.

I do plan to wear it in combination with my wedding ring and at times wear it alone.

I know you all have amazing ideas not to mention GREAT TASTE...so, please send all ideas my way. If you have pics I would love to see them as well.

Before I forget...My wedding ring is a platinum, three stone princess ring. The stones tend to appear a bit more rectangular than square. The total carat weight is just slightly under four carats. The setting is plain and set very low. You really just see three beautiful diamonds in your face.

I am open to all suggestions.

Can't wait to hear from you all.

MIAB

I think you should get a channel set princess cut eternity band. I'm thinking along the lines of a skinny one as opposed to one with larger diamonds. You don't want to detract from the e-ring. It won't sit flush with your e-ring so you have to like the idea of having a gap inbetween the two. This is just my opinion...I'm sure others will have some great ideas that I didn't think about.

I agree that a channel set band would be really pretty. I've seen many different ones that have varied depths and borders. You'll have to experiment at different B&M stores to see what you like with the ring. There's a channel band that I really love that I'll have to hunt down and post...

Have fun with the hunt!

Swampus,
Thank you for for your thoughts and the pic. If you just described the ring to me I may not have liked it, but for some reason it does catch my eye.
I think you are right in that I must try on many rings...my hunt has begun.
I do love hearing from people on how they may see it. Thanks again
Miab.

I agree with didiamond. Channel set band with princess stones...this one is 3/4 cts but doesn't go all the way around...

For some reason I get nervous with channel set. Is it pretty secure? Do the stones get loose much? Would I risk them falling out? I don't know much about this type setting, so if you can share I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your input.

Don't worry about the security of the channel set diamonds. I have two of them (one is with baguettes set N/S half way around and the other is with baguettes and RBs set like the one above) and I haven't had a problem with them. I wear them every day and I've never loosened or lost a stone. Pkarhu's pic above is the one I was talking about for you. Isn't it pretty? I had one like that all the way around for a while but had to return it because of size. I never had a problem with that one either.

I think you should go try some on with your e-ring and see how you like it. And take a camera with you so WE can see how it looks!!!!

I am going tomorrow to shop for my band and try many on. It is my chance to slip into another world and relax. I use to be able to really shop and concentrate, but with three little kids it has grown to be quite impossible. That is the main reason why I really appreciate all the feedback here. I know many people get to see so much more than I can.

If I did go with a princess channel set...how large would you go on the stones?

I will try to post a pic of my e-ring soon. I need to get up to the year 2004 skills-wise one of these days.

MIAB.

MIAB--just something to think about... the larger you go with the princess stones, the higher the depth of the ring has to be. This applies to any shaped stone you get, but particularly with the princess--I think they're "taller" than other stones of the same carat weight.

Make sure you try different cuts on with your e-ring. Sometimes different cuts make the center stone stand out even more!

Good luck and let us know what you find!

Swampus,

Thank you so much for the advice and a bit of your expertise. I really did not know that...so, you learn something new every single day.

I will keep you posted for sure.

MIAB... there are 2 reasons a higher depth might bother you--if it's too high when compared to your e-ring, and if you ever want to wear it without the e-ring, it might look funny if it's too high off your finger. But maybe that's just me! Have fun shopping!

MIAB...I ran across this picture and thought you might like to see how your rings would look should you purchase a princess cut eternity band. I know you said that your e-ring stones were a little more rectangular but I think it gives you an idea of how it would look. Hope you like it!

Diane,
Thank you so much for thinking of me and posting the picture, so I could see.

I actually love how it looks...more than just hearing you describe it to me. A picture is worth 1000 words as they say. I do have to seek a band like this out in my next diamond shopping hunt. The last time I went out I did not see one or one that worked with my ring for that matter.

I haven't been able to shop much with the big hurricane scare this past week. I had so much preparation to do and quick. I thought of you too and I wondered how you fared. Hope all is well with you!

By the way...that is my e-ring to the "T". It made me smile. I know what my husband went through and how much love went into purchasing something he thought I would love and that he loved as well.

Thanks Diane!

If that is your ring then you have a STUNNING ring and it would look fantastic with that band! Atleast I think so.

A great ring and a great husband (who's extremely loving and thoughtful!) = a great MIAB!

The precision set one might not work with your 3 stone princess ring since you said it was set low. Precision set makes theirs specifically to fit flush next to a band. However we have some new ones that are coming in that are channel set contours. Our vendor had a hard time making this one because to get all the stones to sit flush they had to specially cut the center princess making it taper on the sides. We carry quite a few different contour style bands and they all seem to work marvelously with rings when noone can get a band to fit flush. We have them in channel round, shared prong round, and princess cut channel set.
