You could look up the dimensions of comparable stones, and make a "ring" out of paper cutouts. That would give you a rough idea of how big the sidestones would be. Just take off your paper ring before you leave the house ( I forgot once, and looked like a crazy woman. But that's just normal for me).

Gosh, Mrs Frk, I thought I was the only one who made those cut outs. When I'm browsing websites and I see something I like and want to buy, I print out the picture and size the image on photoshop until it's exactly the dimensions given and then I print it out and use sticky tape to put it on my finger.

We are nutty, aren't we!? I'm the least crafty person you will ever meet. When my husband sees me cutting things out with scissors, he knows I'm on the hunt for new sparklies!

Hi,

If possible, post the dimensions of the stones.

While there is a relationship between weight and dimensions, The depth of stones may vary greatly and thereby make diamonds "look" bigger or smaller than equal weight diamonds.

There is enough of a variance to make it a case by case consideration in jewelry design.

I'm LMAO! I do the cut-out thing too! I was deciding on side stones for a custom e-ring design and cut out various sized pears with different l/w ratios and stuck them on the top border of my computer screen for a few days. I stared at them constantly (since I work from home on the computer), and I eventually was able to make a choice. Definitely a primitive approach, but it works.
