Some companies are: Calibre,Croton,Invicta,Po tger-Pietri,Jacques Lemans,Stuhrling. Some are good looking but I have never heard of them. |

I just saw this thread. Invicta and Croton have been around a while, but some of the others are odd. Most automatic movements all come from the same place in Switzerland (ETA-- a company affiliated with Swatch, Tissot, Omega, and I think Longines, too), so the biggest difference is how each company tinkers with the movement and the case they put it in. Oris is a great example of putting high quality cases on accurate Swiss movements and selling them for a reasonable price. Seiko and Citizen in Japan also make automatic movements that are common in many different watches. The quartz movements are also distributed in a similar way. I hope this helps. |

AFAIK, you should exercise caution when getting some of the watches on shopnbc. I have not had personal experience with any of these brands, but I've been interested, and here's what I know from some of my research: I've heard from the watch afficionado community that several shopNBC brands, like Stuhrling, for example, are made with Swiss parts, but assembled in China or some other eastern country (i.e. "Swiss ebauche" movements). In addition, it's been said that several of shopNBC's watch brands are fashion watches which utilize manual date wheels; it seems that they may not be sophisticated enough to self-adjust on the date (I've read one consumer's experience of having to reset the date every month, or it'd go beyond 31 days to 40 each month...) Regarding Invicta, it has been pointed out by a Jorge Merino that "there are two Invicta’s." Invicta Watch Group (http://www.invictawatch.com/), founded in Hollywood, Florida, USA makes its watches in Switzerland and Japan (per Europa Star magazine). On IWG's website, they advertise their watches to be of Swiss Ebauche movements (i.e. they are swiss parts, but may or may not be assembled in Switzerland). Mr. Merino states that the Invicta which is associated with having a long history, is based in Italy, belongs to the Sector Group, and is the successor to “Fabrique Invicta - Fils de R. Picard”, which was founded in 1837 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. I haven't been able to verify whether or not the two are affiliated. I'd do some searches on horological forums and research the origins of each company and their movements on horological websites if I were really on the lookout for a quality timepiece. Cheers... P/S: I wanted to add that I really do love some of the designs that these companies are putting up & that I think that their advertised MSRP is way way way off charts... |

I purchased two Invicta watches from shopNBC. On one watch the band was too small and they couldn't do anything for me. The other watch has luminous hands but they dont work. I called invicta in Florida and their customer service Dept. had no clue. They were supposed to get back to me but never did. Invicta customer service is terrible. The dont seem to know anything from my conversations with them. I also bought a Calibre watch and the strap was too small. I called shopNBC and the company whose number they gave me to call. Neither one could do anything for me. Some of their watches look nice and there suggested retail seem awfully high. I wouldn't count on any customer service from shopnbc or the watch company. Just my experience. |

I purchased a Croton Equator from shopnbc over a year ago and am very happy with the quality, and have always been satisfied with shopnbc's customer service. It sounds like you need longer bands in general, if you like the watch, why not replace the band with a longer one yourself? |

love shopnbc's invicta watches !
i know this post is really old but i just became a member and had to put my 2 cents in. i've bought several invicta watches from ShopNBC. I love them ! i've had to send one in for repair and the 5 year invicta warranty covered it. no problems at all ! i have bought 2 of the baby lupah's and one that i can't remember the style and the regular lupah's. i have been in high-end stores here in palm beach county and the ladies behind the watch counters have loved my watches also. and, they sell them! mine looked exactly like the ones they had for sale. for a LOT more money ! |
