Actually, getting engaged on Valentine's day is pretty romantic I think! My friend got married on that date and her wedding was totally sweet and romantic.

I think maybe what the poster meant was that it might have been a little less unimaginative to propose on V-Day, just because it might have already kind of "set the mood" just because it was the 14th of February. I have kinda had these thoughts...but that is just my opinion. I think a proposal could be romantic *any* day of the year! Including V-Day!
