Hello Folks, I've been lurking for a bit after stumbling on your informative sight on a research mission. I will be married soon, and had a beautiful engagement ring. It was a family heirloom ring that my finace had cleaned & resized for me. Unfortunately, the stone fell out (it's early 20th century design, loose setting) and seemingly impossible to replace without modifying the original design somehow
I'm not big on purchasing anything remotely related to DeBeers, and stay away from mall/franchise owners for many of the same reasons.
I have recently gotten over my fear of purchasing on Ebay(loooong time lurker, just started buying items) I have been surfing the antique/vintage jewlery section, but very wary of spending my hard earned cash on soemthing I can't examine up close.
Please, lend me your expertise, I would love advice/education.
PS--This is starting to become more then just an intrest...I think I'm catching a jewlery bug!
