I want a Halloween themed Wedding I don't know why I have this obsession, but i have always had the Halloween birthday parties (what few I have had) and the idea has stuck with me. I have read up on people who have had their gothic and halloween weddings and some go a little too far but i do want a festive, intimate, little costume party. Outdoors in the evening. I don't know... what do you think? Any ideas for creative invitations (aren't many invites made for a halloween themed wedding) and other aspects of the wedding.

And this site has some excellent ideas like: Have the wedding and/or reception in an historic mansion. At night, they can feel "spooky" while still being formal and elegant. Have the bridesmaids wear black gowns in luxe materials such as velvet, crepe, or chiffon. Put the groomsmen and ushers in tails. Undertakers traditionally wore swallowtail coats. Rent wrought-iron candelabra http://www.wednet.com/questions/engage13.asp ![]() Sounds like fun. It also sounds gothicly classic! |

I have searched the web for halloween ideas with elegant touchs. Thanks for your comments. I have actually seen the web site those pictures came from. To make it really elegant i think the best idea is to have everyone wear some realistic vampire teeth. Even have my flower girls in a little burgandy gown. I want this beautiful Renaissance gown, it is an ivory and it is gorgeous. I think the guest should choose their costumes as they please though. I want blood red roses and a gothic sense to it. Not so far as to have it in a graveyard but to make it seem spookey. |

Ooh, I'd love to see your dresses. When I was in London I saw the most gorgeous 'gothic' type wedding dresses that both me and my husband loved. I wished I had a chance to wear something so cool. Good luck. |

One of my good friends met her husband while they were both volunteering at the local Haunted House. Of course they got married that next year on the Saturday before halloween. The Bride wore an antebellum style wedding dress and the groom wore a Union Generals outfit. The bridesmaids all wore beautiful fall colored gowns. The reception was a costume party. Included a group of us that went as a herd of cows and a couple of cowboys. Even the preacher changed into a cow costume. The hardest part was finding something to represent an udder for the females in the herd (and a store that had the little moo toys for us to make noise with). |

halloween wedding
i know someone who had a halloween wedding... i'm from australia by the way... a lady i work with, well, her daughter... they are gothic anyway... here's their story... they got married in a cemetary... she made and wore a black pvc dress and had black tulle for a veil, he wore a red pvc suit... i don't have any pictures, but i have seen pictures and it looked amazing, even if you weren't into gothic.. just the detail and effort they went into to make this day special for them. i honestly couldn't see her in a white dress, coz it's not the type of person she is. |

I just couldn't wear black... i want to stick to the ivory dress and well the choker i want to wear with it is red and black but i want to look around for a different one. And even wear some theatrical vampire teeth. Flower girl in burgandy and bridesmaids, well, probably in burgandy or a deep red as well... |

I kinda want it to look as if some vampires were getting married.. I just can't stick with a traditional wedding... it wouldn't suite me at all |

my cousin got married wearing a medievil type dress... it was white down the bottom, but was kinda burgandy/gold up the top with flowing sleeves... only saw photos and that was a long time ago.... i'm sorry i can't remember much more detail than that. |

I am an EXPERT on this- my birthday is on Halloween, so you can be guarenteed I have had more Halloween parties than anyone else (except others borth on 10/31) I like the white dress you chose- very prefect, especially with the right makeup. Also, you can have a psychic doing readings, maybe a magician doing tricks around the reception and of course everyone is going to come in costume, right?? If it was not my birthday, I would get married on Halloween too- what a fabulous and fun wedding! YOur guests are going to be so lucky! Also, you have got to get your portraits carved on pumpkins! -Acugirl got ot www.vivalasvegasweddings. com and watch some archived gothic weddings and phantom of the opera weddings |

The thing about the halloween theme is that i want it to be elegant and i don't know if i want to go so far as to have black cats and typical halloween decorations in my wedding. Although my birthday parties were as much as typical, i want my wedding to be special. My birthday is on the 27th and my wedding should and will be separate even though they will be close together.

I need an innovative idea for an invitation. I looked into the CD invitation from Digital Sentiments but it only has two backgrounds and neither would well suite a halloween themed wedding. I would like to try to make the invitations myself because i have more than enough time to do it. I wish I could come up with a very creative and individual idea. Any Ideas???

I made my own invitation from a kit i found at Staples, they were so classy and nice- but not halloween oriented. You can do black paper with silver writing or something- elegant, but sticking to the theme. (go Scorpios) -Acugirl |

That is a nice idea. I could look into that. (I'm a Scorpio too!) Thanks for the reply. |
