Well, I love this stone to bits and pieces. Love the color, but I think I am going to use a different size for the ring I have in mind. That's also a long time away as I don't have the $ to work on such a project. I figured I'd give it away because so many of you are interested in warmer stones right now. Be the 1st to PM me the correct answers and I will send it to you! 1.25 RB Lightest yellow interlap 1. What instrument do I play? 2. Name 2 of my favorite composers? 3. What is the pattern of a major scale? (In intervals, whole steps and half steps. do re mi fa so la ti do is not the correct answer.) 4. What is the devil in music? 5. Who was Julian Orbon? Thanks for playing. Good luck to all! |

MAVMOM WINS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great going Mavmom. Please PM me your info. Thanks to all who played. I truly enjoyed this. Now for the amswers: 1. Classical Guitar 2.Brouwer, Villa-Lobos, de Falla, Orbon 3.whole, whole, half, whole, whole, whole, half 4. Diabolo in Musica- the Tritone, the augmented 4th or diminished 5th. The interval where there are 3 whole steps from note to note. Composers regarded this interval as the devil and would avoid using it in their compositions. That changed in the later 1800's. It does have a very spooky sound. Those of you with instruments play the notes F to B. You'll hear for yourself. People use it all the time today. You'll hear lots of tritones in West Side Story. 5. Julian Orbon is a composer who was born in Spain, lived in Cuba, moved to the states and died in the states. He wrote one piece for classical guitar. It was written for his cousin, the great Rey de la Torre. Orbon wrote "Guantanamera" however, once he left Cuba, history was "rewritten" and he did not receive credit for the piece until many many years later. I studied with a student of Rey de la Torre and did my thesis on Orbon. Thanks so much once again. What fun! |

Honorable mention to Amethyste. She had all the answer right but gracefully declined the interlap. What a class act. |

Thank you

Are those your own fingernails? I need to keep mine way shorter and I am not even a serious guitarist. Not very, anyway. I decided to sit this one out for a change. |
But, thanks- it was fun to guess the answers anyway!
yes they are Pookie, but it is my right hand, which I need to keep long. Classical guitarist play with their finger nails. My left hand is VERY short.
Funny, the picture looks like my left hand. I wonder how this can be? That is my right hand, but according to the picture it is my left. Bizare... I have to figure that one out. Even if you roate the picture, my thumb is still in the wrong place. *lol* |
