marriahlyn I hope I can help you since I live in Hawaii. I sent dbeth some info on Maui, I live on the Big Island and Oahu is the capital (big city) of the state. There is also Kauai, which is beautiful as well. What are your interests and how much time do you have? |

Actually that's a darn good question. It's his idea to go to Hawaii and he's talked about it a lot so I agreed that would be the place. Hey twist my arm!! I guess I'll have to ask him what he wants to actually do there. He's not a super active person who's into a lot of sports or biking. I guess we're just going to sit on the beach with margaritas and spend lots of time in our room ![]() I'll ask him what it is he'd really like to do then post again. I would rather go to an all-inclusive resort...none of those in Hawaii--because I'm a cheapskate!! |

The Hilton Waikoloa Village here on the Big Island is very much all inclusive. It has 1,285 rooms (I used to work there in group sales) and is a popular destination for honeymooners. There are other resorts here, but that one is where eveyone else migrates to during their visit here anyway. You go figure. Keep me posted. |

That's funny you suggested that one.....I just got some travel eye candy (huge books) from my travel agent and that one just popped out at me. It doesn't look like it's all inclusive. When I traveled to Jamaica my package included all tips, room, air, all meals, all beverages in-cluding alcohol and non-motorized watersports. I haven't found one of those in Hawaii. I guess the cost doesn't matter. AJ will go wherever he wants no matter what it costs. I'm the tight-wad. If I have any questions I will sure contact you. I can't wait to show him these books tonight. We are booking a July trip to the Bahamas tonight-we're going July 7-11 to Wyndham Crystal Palace Casino. I'm pretty sure he's going to pop the question there. I'm really not sure when he'll want the wedding....not much planning as it's Vegas but I think he may go for this fall instead of next spring. Boy I'm a traveling fanatic this year...took my daughter to Disney World in April...Bahamas....Vegas then to Hawaii. Going to need lots of Xanax for the plane rides ![]() Thanks again for you help, sorry I'm rambling..I'm only a tad excited!! |

OK marriahlyn, now I know what you mean by all inclusive. I thought you meant more along the lines of self-contained. Apologies for the error. Now that I know what you mean, you should call 1-800-Hiltons (if you're really interested) because I think they do have FIPs (Family Inclusive Packages). Not sure *how* inclusive it is, but it sure wouldn't hurt to inquire. I can tell you first hand, the resort experience is coveted by many around the world. |

Do you know where you would like to go yet?? We are going to Maui and we booked our hotels/resorts through www.blue-hawaii.com We found them to have the best rates. Actually any travel company that has blue sky tours would have great rates. The first 5 nights we are staying at a condo on the beach in Napili Bay, then for the weekend at www.theplantationinn.com A cute b&b in lahaina town. The last three nights we are splurging at the Grand Wailea. Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions! |

I usually book most honeymoon couples to Kauai 1st then to Maui. Kauai is very relaxing and just beautiful. It gives you some time to rest after the wedding. Lots of nature sites to see. Maui has a little more to do but still remains one of the most amazing places you will ever see. I suggest the Hyatt Resorts on both Islands for a moderate price hotel that will feel like luxury. If you have more in your budget I usually suggest the Hyatt on Kauai then Four Seasons on Maui. I have been four times and can help you with any questions you may have on what to do while you are there as well. Good Luck and Congratulations!! I read through all your replies and you got some really great advise. I hope that you have fun. Also we have great cruises to get you to Hawaii and then you can Island hop this is a fun way to visit all the islands. ANd of course they are all inclusive as well. Oahu is for the tourist who wants to shop and hit the clubs at night learn to surf during the day on the North Shore or Waikiki. Kaui, well beautiful just seems to be a dull drab word since I saw those flowers and the gardens. Nice relaxing island of beauty! Maui is a nice relaxing combo of the two I think. Well, the food is probably better too on O'ahu than the other islands. Granted, it does not compare to the finest restaurants in Manhattan (few other states, cities, or towns do), but any couple will certainly have fun eating here for two weeks. I particularly enjoyed Aaron's for American cuisine and Seafood Village for Chinese food. Both places have nice decor and good service. I still haven't found a great pizza place or French restaurant. Indian food is also lacking. If zoos, museums, historical buildings, and botanical gardens are your thing, then O'ahu probably beats the other islands as well. |

Re: Anyone have Hawaii suggestions..
Hello, The Ritz Carlton Kapaluas re-opens on June 16th with $180 million in new renovations. Some of the 15 treatment rooms open to private outdoor shower gardens. There also are two couples' cabanas, steam rooms, saunas, whirlpools and a lava stone grotto. The spa also offers Hawaiian-based treatments like lomilomi massage and Hawaiian healing treatments. They could be offering specials to promote finalization of the renovations. Also the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau is partnering with a lot of your tour companies offering discounts through the summer and fall on packages to help boost tourism. I would suggest looking into an all-inclusive especially for Hawaii. That way you won't spend your honeymoon worried about all the additional costs adding up (ie: food, drinks, etc..). Happy Honeymooning! Lisa |
