For my small outdoor wedding? I love it, but is it too small? Too expensive for what it is? I like that it's small and simple. Does anyone know of similar, somewhat unusual bouquets? http://www.weddingshowergifts.co m...products_id/135 |

That's very pretty! If you are crafty, you might be able to make this and save yourself some money. Although, it takes a lot of patience and some time. I made my own tiara because I wanted to save some money but it did cost a lot of time and trial and error. But I got what I wanted and I learned a new craft. |

Lucy, I like it!
Only thing would be, I'd prefer a real rose in the center surrounded by the crystals. win |

hmmmmm
i don't like all the tulle around it. i think something more creative could be done, plus i don't like the fake rose. you could do the same concept using maybe three blossoms, like lillies or a rose and two lillies (alstromeria) and the crystals. it looks a little too much like a craft item to me, but you could definitely take this concept and improve on it. mars |

Well, I love the bouquet, but I have to think it's too much money for what it is. They wanted an extra $5 to make it a pink rose, and an extra $10 to get it done in less than 4 weeks. Which made it $70 plus shipping, which seems insane to me for a silk rose, some tulle, and some crystals. So I'm going to look for more reasonable alternatives. I just want something small, soft, and feminine, in ivory and pink. |

Do what you would do if you loved a ring and couldn't afford a designer. Choose a florist and tell him/her that you saw this great bouquet online and would like a copy. Simple as pie. It looks like a very simple bouquet. Instead of baby's breath, they used wires with crystals attached. I bet the hardest part is the bow and fighting boredom as you wrap all of those crystals onto the stem. I have a friend that I bet could make it with no probs. If she can, I'm sure you can find someone to do it. If not, I can try to sweet talk her for you, but she's in the middle of her last(!!!) semester of college and is really stressed out. |

Lucygoosie,It's a lovely concept and any florist could put this together for you at way less than they have it priced.Like winyan suggested I would go with a fresh rose.A single long stem rose and crystals wrapped, with the organza ribbon would be beautiful.kk

The real rose depends on whether you get it done professionally or not. According to my friend, real flowers are a pain to mess with b/c you have to put the things together as close to the ceremony as possible. You also have to wire the stem of the rose and she makes that sound like it's pain in the tail. I've never done it, so I don't know. I personally love fresh flowers, but think silk are much more practical. You can make them days, months in advance, they're easier to work with, and you don't have to worry about them wilting. As a matter of fact, when another friend got married my florist friend made her bouquet in December and she didn't get married until May. |

I like fresh roses too. Nothing beats the scent and the silky softness of a fresh bloom. For my bouquet though, I want to go with high-quality silk because I want to put it in our bedroom (in the house that will be finished in a couple weeks!). There's a ledge on one side that is perfect for flowers, and I like the idea of having my wedding bouquet up there, to see whenever we're in the bedroom. Jami, you're a doll to offer sweet-talking your friend, but having done the "last term at school" thing myself, there's no way I could impose! It will be okay. I think I will go with a simple ball bouquet of roses and lilies. I can always add a big organza or tulle ribbon to it. Something like this. I like simplicity. I could just tuck in some pale pink roses, add a bow or maybe some long ribbons, and it would be nice. What do you think? |

Lucygoosie,That's a wonderful idea as well, I used fresh flowers in my bouquet but had the florist make an exact replica of it in silks.I had the silk bouquet, wedding shoes, marriage license, the jewelry pieces I wore on my wedding day along with a small picture of my husband and I standing at the alter framed into a three dimensional wall hanging. It hangs on a wall in my bedroom,so like you said ,everytime you see it you can remember that special day.kk

That's an adorable idea, Kitty. A memory box of your wedding. I'd like to do something similar on the little ledge. It makes my day easier to start if I do it in a cheery room.

Lucygoosie,Here's a picture of my bouquet,it was made of roses, calla lillies. It had to be a little bit larger to keep in balance with my gown.

Have you looked at Tussy Mussys? I know you're going to kick me for giving you more options, but I had one and I love it. I bought a tussy mussy with a stand and my husband took the stand, strung a gold wire through it, and hung it on the wall. I'll dig one up in case you haven't seen one. They're perfect for small bouquets. |

Mine had a stand with it that was designed to make the bouquet lay on its side instead of straight up. Here's a Google search. |

There are so many great bouquet options! I've seen dozens that are just gorgeous. Well, they're flowers, of course they are beautiful. Fortunately, I've limited my choices because I want something small and very simple. Tussy mussies are so cute. Really, there isn't any style of bouquet that I -don't- like! Your bouquet was lovely, Kitty. Callas are my favorite flower, and I love any type of lily. Roses are, of course, a classic.

If you do white silks ladies, either invest in a dome or better yet square cover or buy the cleaner. Cos it will get funky. Another option that is cool is put it in lucite. As in trap it is solid lucite. |

I think I said this before but I love your dress and jewelry. I might bug you for some info. |

I've seen a somewhat similar bouquet. The concept was similar. It was a bouquet with a single, white calla lilly. In my opinion, the calla lilly looked more special and elegant than the rose. |

You are so wise I pictured you a bit older. It's nice to see someone so young with real wisdom and compassion. win |

It's surprising I stumbled upon this thread...I usually stay out of the wedding/bridal threads since I'm an old married hen but the bouquet title had me curious. I'm glad I found this one!You look absolutely exquisite in your bridal gown. When was your wedding? Or was it pre-DT like mine?? The only picture I recall seeing of you was in your jet-ski/beach suit (I think ). What a delight for me to see you in your bridal gown! Your beauty radiates.Lucygoosie, sorry to get OT. I like the bouquet, but I also favor fresh, and feel that you could do better on the price. Good luck. |
