Girdle Laser Engraving Question

I'm assuming there must be a way to have a jpeg file or something similar used to create a master for a laser engraving. Is this possible? How much would it cost?

I want to have my soon to be husband wedding band engraved in Japanese characters...but I wasn't sure if that would be possible. I am so glad that you are asking this question rbjd.
