It's silver and turquoise, obviously. You know, the major flaws in the turquoise never bothered me much. I always thought they added character to the piece. |

It is beautiful, Cassandra. I prefer turquoise to display 'flaws.' I like the look of matrix, spidering, iron and silver flecks, etc. I was hoping someone would start a "silver & turquoise" thread. I was thinking of starting one...Thanks, Cassandra! I inherited several pieces through my family, and have bought some, too. I'll try to post some pictures today, after I eat lunch and have coffee :-) |

Thanks, Itbit. Can't wait to see your pictures!

The old turquoise and silver Native American jewelry can be really beautiful. But there is also some incredible stuff from the younger designers. My in-laws are Scottsdale snowbirds, and it is so much fun to visit the galleries and shows when we escape Wisconsin in the winter! Thanks for sharing your bracelet! |

Here goes! My mother collected such jewelry, and I took some pictures today. |

My mother loved that bracelet and wore it often. She often wore this pendant, too. Here it is in its entirety, then I'll post a close-up of the center because the first picture doesn't show the silver in the center stone well. (Those 'black' patches are actually bright silver.) |

This bracelet used to belong to my friend's mother. I wear it a lot. |

Everything is gorgeous. I had an anthropology professor who LOVED Native American jewelry. She had some of the most amazing pieces you would see, but then again she also worked closely with several tribes and did archeological digs. Thanks for the pics. They are awesome. I love this stuff. -Tami

Thank you. Not only do I love the way turquoise and silver look together, but I also appreciate the artistry of the Native American silversmiths. Note the design of the silver work around the turquoise of Cassandra's bracelet. It is beautiful. |

Here are three Native American inlay bracelets on my wrist. The top two, I bought this year. The bottom one was my first anniversary present from my husband. We were in Gallup, New Mexico in 1990 and he bought me that bracelet and I bought him a silver and turquoise watchband. Gallup is a center for Native American jewelry; huge wholesale and retail shops line the main street. I felt like I was in heaven! |

I really love the bracelets. I enjoy Native American work because it is always so detailed. The cultures of Native American tribes are just so captivating and interesting, and I truly enjoy learning about them as well as seeing their artwork. -Tami |

Itbit that first bracelet you posted- I love it! I was trying to remember is Zuni or Hopi jewelry that is usually made of many small pieces of turquoise individually set like that? I'm blanking on it, but it's always my favorite style. |
|
|
I love turquoise too!! I inherited two rings one with red coral and turquoise, the other a big turquoise from my FAVORITE grandmother. They are SO special to me. I also have a bracelet that I don't wear much, but I love to look at it. When I get my new white gold ring with the cushion cut, I can wear my silver indian jewelry more. Now I just have yellow gold rings! |

Momof2, the channel-set jewelry is Zuni-style. You used to be able to say that such bracelets were Zuni, but now other tribes do similar work. Does anyone want to post pictures of their silver and turquoise jewelry? I'll post some more pictures later. (I don't mean to hog this thread, but I have a lot of Native American jewelry LOL!) |

![]() There are some really interesting pieces in this thread, for sure! Love it!! Native American is just one small part of my diverse ancestorial gene pool. My grandmother's father, I believe, was nearly 100% Native American, of the Chippewa tribe. So these pieces hold a little bit of a glimpse into that part of my history. Thanks for sharing everybody.

My husband, as well as many of my friends, have some Native American ancestry. I sure love turquoise and silver jewelry. Here are some more of my pieces. |
