Is there a big difference in size appearance, to the average naked eye, between 1.03 vs. 1.55 (both with the same color and clarity, vvs1, g color)?

Is the difference worth upgrading?

Thanks!

Absolutely. Assuming all else is equal, I'd buy the 1.55 in a second. Do you have dimensions on either of the diamonds?

I don't have dimensions, yet.

But, what are some of the reasons why you would buy 1.55 over 1.03, considering everything is equal?

Further, if everything is equal, what is the typical price increase from 1.03 to 1.55?

$2,000?
$3,000?
??

Thanks!

Why would I buy the 1.55?? We live in America, my friend, where bigger is almost always better. We like big cars, super-sized fries, 2,000+ square foot homes and large screen tv's.

We live in a society, that, for better or worse, judges people on the thread count of their bedroom sheets, the hair count on the top of their head, and the carat weight of their diamond rings.

You don't think that if your girlfriend/fiancee/wife put her ring next to her best friends ring and it was SIGNIFICANTLY larger, that a little wash of pride wouldn't go through her veins?

She will love anything you give her, whether it's 1/4 carat or five carats. But if all else is equal (and you're not going into debt) why not buy the bigger ring?

As for a difference in price, I expect it would be substantial. It really depends on those other "equal" factors of cut, clarity, color, etc.

As Dennis Miller would say;

"That's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

The difference is definitely noticeable. Your significant other will no doubt appreciate the upgrade...But beware the Cut! If one stone has a large table and the other doesn't the difference may be less apparent for sure!
