I finnally found a jeweler that new waht H&A was 45mile radius, and i had him order the stone in for me to see one. Well i was all excited, and i get there,,,

1st he had a seperated building with alot of windows, the hole store was mostly light with daylight from the windows, and a little over head litting,

so far all the diamonds i have seen were under the "MALL LIGHTS" well
the diamond looked kind of dead just nice and white, he cleaned it and it did look alot better flashing some brillant blue sparkles, and he let me take it outside and it kind of turned dark.....

in the ideal scope it looked perfect with no light leakage...

i know that the mall uses cheater lights but,,,, the way i look at it is for a fair comparison, i need those cheater lights there for a real comparison to what i have been looking at..... does this make since???

i guess i need someone to tell me that i was just seeing the performance in true lighting, and the .70ct ideal cut ags0 H&A..f color diamond really will look better than the mall diamonds??
it also scored a .8 on hca ex-ex-ex-vg

one thing that was funny that after looking at diamonds so much
im starting to be able to pick pretty good ones just by eye........
i was in zales the other night and one caught my eye,,,,i ask to see it and low and behold...through the ideal scope it had minimum lightleakage and displayed almost a perfect arrows pattern,, and it was a uncerted HAHAHA
my buddy that worked there, showing him how my idealscope worked, needless to say he's going to order one so he can have a edge over the fellow poeple he works with

I don't think comparing mall diamonds to H&A stones in the mall light helps very much. Personally, I think that you need to develop a sensitivity to the light return in normal light and in cloudy-day light. Once you have that, then when you see a typical H&A versus a non, you'll know what the hype is about.
