Hello all,
Well my jeweler finally finished my custom ring (still not happy with it, but that's another story), and I am really dissatisfied with their appraisal. There is alot of detail about the gold weight, and karat and of course the two channel set bands I purchased from them, but only size, color/clarity on my stone. (I purchased the stone thru internet, independently of them, they were not pleased).
As some of you might remember, it tooks me months to find the stone I could both LOVE and afford. I am afraid that in the event of a loss the insurance company would make me settle for less of a stone. Is this typical? Shouldn't I have an appraisal that details the GIA cert info and cut grade? If interested, here is the stone:
I spent alot of money to have this stone (when loose) evaluated by Rockdoc and not real happy about having to fork over another 300 or 400 dollars to do this again, now mounted..... Need advice!

i know this is like almost 2 yrs too late for you to need the info, but i just found this site and became a member today, i to am in the ky southern indiana area, and i found that ther are a few good places to take it to in the evansville, in area. groneninger's is a good place to start long with krukemeyer & cohn, also goelhauser & killian all of these guys are top of the line in this area. groneninger's has been doing this sort of stuff for years. i know evansville might be a few hours away for you, but it's worth the drive to have this guy take a look.
