I know there are many factors when buying a diamond but I was wondering, based on this information, what is a good estimate and a reasonable cost:

round diamond
2 karat
vvs1
g color

Thanks!

I looked around and was surprised at how expensive that diamond really is. A well cut, G/VS1 was running over $17,000 and another 2.00 carat F/VVS2 was just under $20,000.

Drop down to SI1 clarity and you can chop almost $5,000 off those figures.

Thanks for your reply Jim.

Is there a big difference in size appearance, to the average naked eye, between 1.03 vs. 1.55 (both with the same color and clarity)?

Is the difference worth upgrading?

Thanks!

Absolutely. Assuming all else is equal, I'd buy the 1.55 in a second. Do you have dimensions on either of the diamonds?
