I am going to donate a set of earrings to a local charity. I have a platinum bezel with gold accent that need stones, about 6mm rounds and I want to put in something that is nice but not too expensive. Choices I have are
White Sapphire, Swiss blue topaz, amethyst,
maybe blue sapphire or (good color)moissanite if I go up a little on what I spend.
What color do you prefer?
What a wonderful donation idea! I would vote for the Swiss Blue Topaz. It is usually a good crowd pleaser. I've attended a few jewelry auctions over the past 5 weekends and I noticed that blue stones were doing really well. Such a "Happy Color."
Lovely idea. I like all the colored stones, but I'd vote to stay away from the white sapphire or the moissanite. To most people, the white sapphire's not going to be all that impressive and may just look too much like CZs, and the moissanite's going to suffer from the stigma of being a fake diamond.
