PLEASE HELP/GIA report
How is this an excellent cut? I used the Hollaway Cut Advisor tool and it is a 3.6 which is very good. Would you buy this stone for $14,000 or is it over priced? GIA 7.84-7.86X4.68mm round brilliant Carat weight: 1.72 Color grade: I Clarity Grade: SI 1 Cut grade: Excellent Finish polish: Excellent Symmetry: Excellent Florescence: Strong Blue Comments: Pinpoints not shown/no surface graining Table 60% Depth 59.5% Crown angle 31.5 or 12.5% pavillion angle 41.6 or 44% culet:none I get 2.9 0r 3.6 HCA depending on whether I enter the angles or percentages. Florescence makes stone appear like a H. No milkiness or cloudiness in sunlight. Glows blue 3-inches from a blacklight but not 24 inches away. |

Re: PLEASE HELP/GIA report
GIA EX EX EX's can possibly not be cut that great. Even though I don't believe in the HCA as the last stone that I saw that his grading scale gave a 2.6 was awesome in light performance, and his only gave it a very good cut. This one was an AGS ideal hearts and arrows cut. So as you can see, his system doesn't always work. |
