Hello everybody:

I figured since a some of you helped me with this difficult task....I would show you the end result. She was very satisfied with what I put together.....

Thank-you to the people who helped me with some of my repetitive and rather silly questions.

I ended up getting Jared's to make the setting....probably could have got it done elsewhere for cheaper....but, they had the "platinum" version of this setting so I figured it would be easier to have them make the same setting but in white-gold. It turned out nice. Got the diamond separate from a wholesaler here in VA(Diamond Source of Virginia).

Emachell: What kind of details are you lookin' for? Ring? or Engagement?

Also, anybody know of a good source we can use to get some info on a Caribbean wedding? We are lookin' to do the honeymoon and wedding at an all-inclusive resort with a bunch of our friends and family members attending.......any ideas of good resorts for adults(not couples only), or islands?????

I need some place where they will let us get crazy.....I'm in my mid-upper 20's and so are most of our friends.....so we definitely don't want to go to a place that is "high-maintenance".....besides, we're a bunch of red-necks anyhow.....high-tech rednecks :-)

Try Puerto Rico. Each side of the island has a different beach due to the mixing of the waters. San Juan has a lot to do for both young and old. Though I do not care for the beaches near San Juan, the nice ones are only about an hour away. Plus, you are not leaving the country and dealing with all the assorted hassles.

If you are looking to party, you should forget the Caribbean and go to Mexico. Cancun is party central of the region (cheap booze=fiesta!), but, personally, I hate the place. For fun and history, Puerto Rico is a good pick--especially Old San Juan. Then there is always the old honeymoon standby of Jamaica. Again, not a personal fave. I'll never go back--even on business. My boss knows where I stand on that issue.

I would be careful of Mexico

Rednecks + Mexican Police = TROUBLE

I hear Puerto Rico is lovely and quite inexpensive!

For cheap partying on a beach, try South Padre Island in Texas. Ali is right about Mexico, though. If you get into trouble there, it's extremely difficult to get out of it.

Honestly, check with a travel agent. If you're going to do the wedding there, I'd recommend one of the all-inclusive resorts like Sandals, SuperClub, or Club Med. They take care of all of the arrangements for you and all you do is show up and have a good time.

Another option is a cruise. Lots of partying and booze and you'll get to see a couple of islands.

I underestimated the drinking power of a redneck
Quote this post and reply to it Post#18 @ 03-27-02 , 07:06 PM

I stand corrected on Mexico. A bunch of drunken bridal party members would have a rough night in a Mexican jail!

I have seen some crazy stuff in my many travels in Mexico. I once had my expensive camera stolen in Merida and I had to file a police report in order to be able to get reimbursement from the insurance company. Big mistake! While I was waiting to give my story, a group of men covered in blood was hauled in--all chained together. A woman ran in and hysterically screamed at these men while brandishing a huge machete. She was not in custody--probably should have been.

Ay yay yay! I love Mexico!
