Advice on Purchase
, 10:05 AM
Long story short-i lost my engagement ring a few years ago. It was a 2 carrot round, F, VS1. The insurance policy lapsed. we have spent some time saving to repurchase and as the cost of diamonds and gold skyrockets, i have come across a deal from a jeweler "friend". He purchased it for his wife.
I have been looking but can't afford to replace the quality of my initial ring.
Color J-although next to my wedding band and to the naked eye it looks not far off to the G-H it was next to. The diamonds in my wedding band are mediocre, channel set diamonds.
AGA cert 2B
Dimensions 9.31 x 8.68 x 5.54
He is giving me this diamond, the band, matching a diamond stud where i lost the mate, and putting screwbacks on the studs for 15,000.
I do love the diamond. In person i think it looks much better than on paper.
Thoughts????? And advice would be much appreciated.

Bummer that you lost your engagement ring and I imagine you are eager to replace it A little concerned about the AGA cert. I would stick to diamonds that are certified by a reputable lab like GIA. They tend to have the strictest grading standards and the most accurate reports. I wonder if this stone would have the same specs according to a GIA report? Might be worth it to keep looking or to submit to GIA to get a better picture of the 4 C's before you make any big commitments.
