Selling Diamonds

If I have a loose diamond(s) that I'd like to sell, what are places in the US that pay top price, are fair, truthful, reputable, and maybe even evaluated by the BBB? Also, should I get them certified and appraised before approaching a potential buyer, whether it be an individual or a company? Thank you so much and I hope that I can be of assistance to you!

Fabrikant Fine Diamonds buys all types of estate jewelry, including loose diamonds. They are located in Manhattan and pay well and are very reputable. My husband and I went to a few different jewelers for appraisals and Fabrikant was the fairest. They also have a great rating by the BBB!

Could you post here how much $$ they paid for your diamond? I can't believe anyone or store who buys to resell will pay a fair price, maybe a fair wholesale price. You have a lot higher chances of fair price if you sell on Ebay. I recently shopped around for buyers of a rolex I had and I really wanted to get 5800 for it, most watch dealers were offering 4500 and I had even some ridiculous offers for 3500 ( an insult, they must think I don't know the real value). Anyways I ended up selling on Ebay for $6220, $400 more than what I was looking to get.
